So Toby is the reason Pip can't give her profit to the farm to help
out, because of the loan to him, Toby is the reason Kenton can't pay
David back and Toby wants to move back into the cottage so that it
can't be let to help with the rental money and Toby urged her to
conceal her part in spreading the infection.

He presumably can't actually be to blame for the cows getting out,
because Pip didn't have time to repair the fences because he occupied
some of her time, and can't be blamed for David not checking whether
the cows were infection-free, as he wasn't there then.

And now the thing she liked about him isn't working :). Will she
refrain from ending it because she feels sorry for him? And he still
thinks it ok to spend money that he really hasn't got and isn't doing
well with the gin-making either. The RT spoilers for next week were
not encouraging for him.

Kenton was pretty useless for years until he took on the café (Jax?) in
Borchester - and Jim helped him convert it into a jazz bar later on?
But his earlier schemes came to naught and he would leave the village
for a while. Jolene despairs - but perhaps not as often as she used to
do?

In contract Toby has something which might work (although I believe the
gin market is drowning in micro-distillieries) - so cannot leave or else
he has to start again. They have a three year deal on Hollowtree I
think, with about two years left? So he is likely to be around for a
while. Perhaps Kate will show renewed interest?

Talking of Kate - is she paying a proper rental for Spiritual Home? If
not are the other partners not losing out on income? And if the cottage
reverts to Home Farm then will Alice pay rent and will Kate lose the
income which has been using to fund Spiritual Home?

In all seriousness this scheme of Brian's new advisor has a lot of
downsides. If I were Alice and Kate I might well ask for 1/13th of the
total asset values and ask for a lump sum less the value of the cottage
and not have a share - easier for Alice perhaps than Kate - who is
renting (?) land. And Brian has assets other than Home Farm - a holding
in BL plus an investment in Hungary of some description. Are these
being put into the partnership - that has not been made clear as far as
I can recall.

I think it's all very confusing and is another illustration of the SWs
and editor just pouncing on a plot idea without getting expert advice. I
would have expected Adam at least to insist on looking closely at the
numbers and to ask the question about Brian's overall assets. How, I
wonder, is he arranging to deal with inheritance tax? The girls have
been bamboozled on the promise of involvement in family deliberations
which obviously appeals to them but may not be to their advantage - lots
of plot development opportunities but no sound foundation.

As for Kate's business, it seems highly unlikely to me that she can make
a success of it. She is surely not doing it all herself - she is
presumably employing specialised therapists. I wonder what she is living on.

Holiday rental income from her cottage. And yes she is using
specialists - at least one of them did a Mothers Day session somewhere else.

Nah, Kate does it all herself; she did an on-line one-hour course in being
an expert in everything.
