Longstanding umrats will remember that I got married in 2006, at the
ripe age of 'unexpected' to a glorious person called Ralph who was even
older than me. The McToodles gave us, on behalf of everyone, a
magnificent collection of useful Archers things - apron, handy peg-bag,
tea-cosy, etc, which are still being used today. But my best beloved is
not here any more to enjoy them. He died on New Year's Day, suddenly and
not covid-related (a ruptured aneurysm), and in spite of a great deal of
support from family, friends, and neighbours, the world is very empty
without him.

Oh Kate, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope that it's some comfort to
you that, having been so sudden, he was able to enjoy life right up to
the end. Sending you my heartfelt sympathies.

Indeed.
The best things in life seem always to be rationed, like your time with
Ralph.
Thinking of you.

Deepest sympathies Kate, words can’t do such bad news justice or offer much
comfort I’m afraid but our thoughts are with you as you have to pick up the
pieces of your own life - just don’t forget, there is always a place for
you in the choccy bunker.
