Interesting item about this on Broadcasting House this morning. No prizes for guessing its
relationship to our favourite everyday story of country folk, it's on here at 25 minutes
into the programme:

Also interesting for Eddie Mair's advice on why it was important to make
BH compelling listening.

I missed that bit, I listened with earbuds whilst having a swim, so I didn't catch the
whole thing. Do you remember roughly at which point that advice was mentioned, please, John?

Sorry, not sure about the time but it was to the effect that BH had to
hold the listeners' attention sufficiently that they didn't go back to
bed for a bonk before The Archers.

What do you mean, go back to bed? I have a rule not to get out of bed in
the first place on a Sunday until after TA. That's a rule that goes back
to the mid-80s when ex and I used to lie in bed listening and playing
mind games about who would concede and get up first.
