Ms. Sparrow would have started her email "A little bird told me.." shirley ?
What would a cheesemaker want with infected milk?

Why hadn't Helen phoned her already given she has phoned everyone in the
area?

Why don't the writers do any thinking?

As I understand it, the milk is fine - the milking parlour wasn't
affected, it's the cheesemaking facilities that were flooded. Also,
Celia is the last person Helen would have contacted. Celia and Helen
have History.

Did Celia ever know what Helen did? Ian knew but I thought that was as
far as it went. And generally cheesemakers in an area might have some
rivalry but they will also work together for the greater good -
expanding the total market is better for all.

And Helen had to eat humble pie, sorry cheese.

According to
https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/uk-milk-prices-and-composition-of-milk/0cc54e83-6029-4957-a4f5-831d7a85ee9e
the current farmgate price for milk (average) is 47.09 pence per litre
and you can reasonably expect to pay more for organic I would assume.
Ms Sparrow is getting a bargain basement price. Null point.

Yes but they're looking at it the wrong way. Instead of getting nothing
they're getting something. If it was for a long-term contract that would
be a different matter, plus Sparrow has no need for organic.

Quite - but never expect Helen to look on the bright side. And the real
beneficiary ought to be the insurers / water company who will pay less
on the claim / damages.

I think Celia was the cheesemaker who got the contract as cheese
supplier to Grey Gables, which Helen had thought would be awarded to her
- despite not having bothered to put a bid together. She then marked
Celia down, when she (Helen) was roped in as judge on a cheese
competition, purely because she was a competitor to Bridge Farm.

I was getting quite anxious during tonight's episode and was wondering
if all the knives were securely locked away in drawers.

I wonder if Celia would have taken such a forceful tone with Helen had
she know her past personal history?

The "usually read" bit was meant as a catch-all, not to imply that I
have insight into your reading habits. As I recall from the time, most
of the press who weren't The Guardian or Observer (or the FT who were
more interested in promoting their newly-acquired critic) were quite
relishing the storyline involving antisemitism at The
Guardian/Observer while the Guardian/Observer were trying to keep the
lid on the discontent amongst their staff about the Tortoise affair.

Even though some previous BTM had declared references to Greg (apart
