WHich Vince Casey will Lynda remember when the time comes for the
Ambridge CC President to give an opinion on the captaincy? The pantomime
villain who spreads unfounded rumours and abducts the wardrobe or the
fairy godfather who works tirelessly to produce the scenery and a well
trained cres of white mice scene shifters?

The crass way this week has changed various aspects really is beyond
belief. Nick Warburton again I note.

Agreed, but how much say does the writer have? Surely he only
interprets others storylines. He doesn't decide when the transplant
fairy acts, or does he?

I think as this week is completely outside the normal arc he has more
freedom. The ongoing stories do not exist this week as far as I can tell.

The Mick and Joy debacle does and Soosan and Tracey are never truly at
peace with each other.

Neither of those interactions relates to THE ARCHERS. Mick and Joy was
bound to be resolved - she should have apologised for her crass remark -
I do not like her.

Soosan and Tracey was confected to mirror Cinderella - not part of the
ongoing story arcs.

I do not like her.
She's a blunt northerner and says what she thinks.

Like the anecdote in the Times today from Rod Liddle reflecting on the
decline of local shops:
Last year I was standing in our greengrocer’s at the back of the usual
small queue of elderly people, the woman directly in front of me tiny,
grey-haired and frail. The greengrocer noticed me and shouted down the
queue. “Rod! I saw an article you had written in your newspaper. In it,
you referred to a woman’s private parts as her ‘lady garden’. Well, I
have to tell you, we don’t use that term around here,” she said sternly.
“We prefer the word ‘minge’.” And the little old lady in front of me
turned round and said: “She’s right, you know. Always minge.” That short
interaction kept me laughing for weeks. I don’t want to give that up.

But telling someone that they do not understand because they do not have
children (a la Leadsom about May) when as far as I can tell Mick has not
been told her side of events by Joy is simply wrong. I don't much care
for Mick either - but then a lot of the problem is that I think the
writers are twisting his character for effect and avoiding consistency.

I am not sure that Mr Liddle's paper would permit use of minge - but
then I stopped regularly reading newspapers sometime ago.

They certainly allowed it in the article. The bot would probably not
allow it in commenst on the article...

But we now live in a world inherited by The Carters and Grundies. The
previous SWs wrote out too many Archers if you ask me: or more kindly, the
original family trees were never envisaged to be required 70 years later.

The programme is called The Archers. The inability to properly manage
development of the family with lots of sprogs for stories is a
significant failing of the Beetle era and made far worse by the SoC
puppet who simply ignored long term planning for short term nonsense.

They should be writing about The Archers not about recent blow-ins.

There’s only so much one can write about The Bull, and farming’s too taboo.
It’s an everyday story of everything BUT farming.

No, they get given the plot details and have to make the words fit. But
this week was pure farce. We (or I as he doesn’t listen) are not amused.
Plus the two stupid subplots of (yet again) Soosan and Tracey v Mick and
Joy.

It won’t sound any more pleasant as an omnivore.
