John Mayall, who was a pretty brilliant musician himself but will
probably be remembered for the other gifted players whose careers he
launched, has died at the age of 90. Thanks for everything, John.

Been listening to A Hard Road. That's the one with his greatest
guitarist, who has passed on before. Plus Blues Breakers, the one with
his second-best guitarist who is still with us but who went very silly a
long time ago.

RIP John

Proof, if it were needed, that the second album isn't always rubbish.

Am I the only umrat who initially saw the subject heading and did a double
take because I thought it was referring to another John who has recently
departed this forum though not, as far as I know, this life?

YANAOU, although only for an instant, as I had already heard the news
about John Mayall, so it didn't take me too long to parse it correctly.

I blame the deceased for dying when he did for the confusion. If it
had been Rosie's first named who had snuffed it and I had written
"Goodbye Peter. Green Onions was never your theme tune but maybe it
should have been." nobody would have batten an eyelid.
