I think the PTB have misunderstood umra.

When we said it was a load of shite we were referring to the
scriptwriters, no suggesting a plot line.

I had to check to see if Steve Bannon was connected in any way with this

I reckong the water company are going to claim that the damage to
Beechwood is all Bridge Farm's fault because they shouldn't have swept
the sewage back into the system, the Tony will sue David for lending the
yard scraper, David will find a way to blame it on Kenton and a mass
shootout on The Green will leave Ambridge inhabited only by Kirsty and
Rex who will collapse into each other's (where the hell does that
apostrophe go?) arms. Cue final use of the Doom Music.

Justin obviously failed to check the drainage was properly installed. I
understand that a lot of problems with poor quality water is down to
builders misconnecting pipes:

https://www.ciphe.org.uk/news-and-advice/press-releases/the-misery-of-misconnections/

and more recently:
https://www.thames21.org.uk/2024/11/thames21s-response-to-news-of-raw-sewage-from-new-build-homes-in-harrow-and-beyond-polluting-london-rivers-amid-regulatory-failures/

So someone needs to sort out Justin.

I am not convinced by the sequence of events anyway. The implication
was that it was pouring over the edge of the brook into the yard. The
now backing up drains would take the effluent to the overflowing sewage
works.

It does not make sense.

I expect Trump and Musk will be involved somewhere. DOGE of course was
the name of the ruler of Venice and we know that La Serenissima
regularly floods and that the canals smell in summer.

I rest me case. Ambridge needs its own MOSE.

Maybe the current incumbent of the White House (whichever one of them
that might be) will emulate the 101st Doge of Venice, Francesco Cornaro.

It's a shame that there aren't beavers in the area. They would have made
dams, helping the land to hold on to water and stop the flow of pollutants.

You mean like this news story from the Czech Republic, the other
day?[1][2]
<https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/02/09/beavers-complete-stalled-dam-save-czech-government-money/>
or read it without a paywall at <https://archive.is/ZLAXP>

[1]Mind you, that's such an extreme difference - One million Euros v.
nothing and seven years v. two days - that I think I'd like to see a
bit of fact-checking here.
[2]I thought we were supposed to call it Czechia these days?

Given the previous village flood and that the brook must have been close
to overflowing prior to the no doubt accidental discharge from the
pumping station how come we have not heard from the local flood warden -
David Archer - in any of this?
