From time to time I have visited Ambridge Reporter who has written
quite long and detailed updates of individual episodes in recent years
and the work involved is obviously time consuming.

I am therefore far from surprised to find that his last entry on 21
January (with Neil meeting Nellie - a story which has now vanished from
the roster and prior to the panto shambles and the Shambles in the yard
last week) is terminated with the following comment:

"I got this far and realised that I had not the least desire to bother
any more. What's the point in trying to record events accurately, when
the editor and his crew can arbitrarily decide to change what is known
to have happened because it was broadcast for people to hear? Neil was
not a foundling from Southport; he was born in Oxfordshire and he and
his mother later moved to Birmingham together."

Chris Ghoti has provided an amazing resource and I would just like to
thank him for his efforts. It is sad it has to end - but the daily time
must be huge.

I can entirely understand how the appalling disruption of the time space
continuum with the above nonsense is so destructive especially when
preceeded by a week in which Justin visited the road to Damascus
(allegedly via a panto), Vince got anti-panto fever despite having much
invested in a staff outing and then the entire programme was portrayed
in the shit.

What sort of experiment is happening?

Are TPTB even listening?

Why are we not marching on the Mailbox for reality?

Is that what some of us used to read before Serena introduced us to the
Beeb’s efforts?

I believe that Chris may have been involved in Lowfield as the name is
familiar. Lowfield is no longer adding new but Brenda Selwyn took over
the archive and the Ambridge Archives have the Lowfield content.

JFTR, my impression is that this Ghoti is a fish of the McToodles
persuasion rather than the Dixon IYSWIM. BICBW.

You might be well be right - I have seen the name as that in a couple of
places but never with a link to any form of biography.
