How come we haven't heard comments about the amazing tea party the
family are planning for Peggy, for her 100th birthday?

Best wishes, Serena
And, while it was regarded as pretty good evidence of criminality to be
living in a slum, for some reason owning a whole street of them merely
got you invited to the very best social occasions. (Terry Pratchett)

Cos the SWs forgot, or we’ll hear that Peggoi didn’t want a big fuss,
though I don’t see Krait wearing that excuse. She’d want go do a big party
at The Laurels just to show off how her lifestyle will help them all live
to 125.

We did hear that Pat was going to make a cake for it.

In the thread about June Spencer's death, I was tempted to say that I
hoped that Peggy would be allowed to reach her 100th birthday. I hadn't
realised that it was so soon, though.

Was leaving that as a surprise for the omnivores - if one still exists.
But how was she going to do anything resembling a posh birthday cake in 4
hrs has me wondering if we’d hear it was a mess (but seeing your list,
methinks it might be a reported thing)

I share Pat's reservations about why, on earth, she was making it, as
well as why had she left it till the last minute! They've got Ian in
Peggy's reasonably immediate family and Fallon in their wider circle;
either of whom would have made a far better job of it than Pat.

I'm sure Pat is a competent baker, when it comes to the kind of
plainish, everyday cakes, which are excellent to enjoy with coffee,
during a break in the working day. I can't imagine that she has either
any real interest or skill in the more frivolous skills involved in cake
decorating, which are required for making a show-stopping birthday cake.

In context, "show-stopping" might qualify for a BTN.

On the other hand, it might not.
