The detailed synopsis is up.It says The synopsis says
'Fallon and Harrison are told that no heartbeat has been detected and
Fallon was pregnant but almost certainly no longer is. They will
remove the coil at once, and Fallon will then miscarry, no more than a
heavy period, ' Almost certainly. Maybe she still is, they are so
relieved she decides to have it?

If the fœtus is big enough for a heartbeat to be detectable (albeit one
hasn't at the moment), wouldn't the miscarriage be more than just a
heavy period - or can they detect them from really tiny fœtuses these
days?

I don't know but the SWs probably don't either.

A “foetal heartbeat” (which isn’t actually a heartbeat) is detectable after
around 6 weeks, which is before many people even know they are pregnant
(including Fallon until the blood tests were done), so losing it at that
stage would be nothing more than a heavy period. The scriptwriters do know
about this sort of thing.
