Bad Taste and Mere Vulgarity

The lack of a BTA ceremony this year was deplorable, although no
criticism is levelled at anyrat in particular. We all have Lives and
Lives have Events, whether they are big dramatic happenings or lesser
stresses and strains. For myself, I have been suffering from Long Covid
for a Very Long Time and sometimes am not up to much of any sort.

Nevertheless, Ai have taken it on myself to remove the Emeritus from my
title and resume the role of Bad Taste Monitor.

I realise we are a small group - around twenty of us - but it's been
clear over the past few months that Bad Taste still abounds in UMRA
albeit not in such actual quantities as in earlier times. Being a small
group is one of the reasons I have felt able to reinstate myself.

It may be that the resurrection of the BTAwards will increase posts in
UMRA. Perhaps some long-time 'rats who have lapsed (like myself) might
be encouraged back.

It may be that those who are becoming disenchanted with Another Place
might be encouraged to spend more time here.

I will be accepting (or not) nominations from today onwards.

There will also be a Brand New and Exciting Award for Mere Vulgarity.
This will be awarded entirely at the BTM's discretion. It might even
run to more than one Award. It will be given at the same Ceremony as
the BTAwards.

couple of months.

Similarly, I could almost regret my having abandoned Amazon last year
because it would have been so much more pointed to have quit right
now. Almost.

Yes, I played the wire-frame version in the eighties as well. Now it's

this afternoon because I have had what are apparently symptoms of LC for
about 3 months. Don't even know if I had Covid, but I had 3 bouts of
bad cold or 'flu or Covid at about the time my problems started. GP
didn't suggest it last time but my daughter has just told me that a
friend of hers told her he had symptoms exactly like mine, was not aware
he'd had Covid but had a blood test and was diagnosed.

That seems a little odd. AFAI am aware there is no diagnostic blood
