This morning's post brought an exciting batch of Clubcard vouchers from
Tescos promising £7 worth of savings. £3 off a £20 shop is valid until
01/09.24 (you might like to check the timestamp of this post at this
point). The 2x £2 of £20 shops valid until 08/09/24 and 15/09/24.

So my £7 of savings has dwindled to £2 thanks to the extremely late
delivery and as there is no postmark I have no way of telling if the
fault lies with Tescos or the Royal Mail. Harrumph (or it would be
harrumph if I didn't also know that I would have difficulty spending £20
in Tescos in a week, let alone £60 in three).

In other news my local Lidl seems to have the first mince pies of the
season on its shelves.

They must have been at least a year languishing in the postal system.
Cash-off vouchers usually have at least a full year if not two validity.
I have given up on the paper ones, though, as I never had them when
required and was always losing or tearing them up inadvertently. If you
can bear it, the Tesco phone app stores it all conveniently. Though it
won't tell you when they're going out of date, annoyingly.

Strange. My Tesco app shows value of each voucher and its expiry date. I
use mine to renew my Senior Railcard.

Sorry, I meant they don't send you a reminder to remind you that they're
going out of date, as some other apps do.

Tesco were showing Christmas puddings and allied products online three
weeks (and probably longer) ago. I didn't like to mention it at the
time, it was too depressing.

It seems to be pretty much the norm now. Not sure you will get
mince pies with a shelf life that will reach Dec 25th yet. :-(

I ate the last mince pie of Xmas 2023 just last week.
Wofe doesn't eat them, but buys them for me - greatly overestimating my
capacity for same.
The excess (and Christmas is all about excess) went into the freezer and
finally emerged in August.

Guilty as charged as I can’t eat anything that might be counted as ‘treat’.
