Moral outrage

Was that The Archers I've been hearing lately just after the 1900 news,
or was it a dramatisation of something by Thomas Hardy?

I was disappointed when Paul did his flounce. I was hoping for Alasdair
to tell him to get himself hence and swive himself.

And was that Emmur, she who ran off with her husband's brother, getting
on a high moral horse? The hypocritical cow!

This is the 21st century. People have relationships with other people
they aren't married to. I've been in that position a few times myself,
and not necessarily in the 21st century (though I'm a born-again virgin
these days). Especially when the marriage is in name only. Did somebody
say Shula wouldn't approve? Shula was the one who told Alasdair to sling
his hook for no reason, so why is it Shula's business what her ex gets
up to in his personal life?

And really, in this day and age nobody should be beholden unto their
grown-up children who have fled the coop.

I fear a time, not far off, when the morality police take over once
again. Hopefully I'll be gone by then.

It's going to take all of my willpower to resist going on a rant about Shula
being a giant hypocrite.

Why ?
Not why is she a giant hypocrite, but why resist it ? ;)
I don't want to bore you all!
The BBC seem unconcerned about that outcome.

In many spheres they already have.
