An excellent question.
I must be careful over names and reputations but in recent years the
following events have happened.
1. The good lady's wife's first husband was accused of having child
pornographic images (many years after their divorce and our marriage I
hasten to add). He was I believe convicted (and is now dead). My wife
had trouble believing that he had such interests when they were together
but it is hard to dispute the content of the newspapers.
2. My wife's best friend at school had a cousin (male and never long
term attached to a partner as far as I am aware) who has in the last
couple of years been sent to prison, again for having child porn images
and having communications with third parties concerning the images.
Again both my wife and her best friend have struggled to believe that
this is true - but there is a court decision.
3. My wife has another friend (with whom we lost touch many years ago)
but her children accused her husband of abuse. The couple have left the
country and cut off all contact with friends and family as a result, the
wife obviously believing her husband rather than her children. I cannot
say that we knew the husband at all well only meeting him a couple of times.
So are all men capable of it and with technology are able to further
their fantasies or is modern living adding new pressures to everyone's
mental stability?
Or do all of our hard disks contain such material since we are all
connected to the internet?
